4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 A must have for fast water., 6.28.2013

The case that comes with the staff is tight and makes access to it, and replacing it, a little difficult. The staff itself pops together as it comes out of the case. Great for one handed use, while the other hand holds the rod. The staff is as good as any of the expensive ones. A must have for fast water.

Very nice wading staff for the money. As many people have said, when needed, it is worth its weight in gold. My first one, I gave to a close friend, a regional competitor in Italy with a tight budget. I saw him eyeing-up mine, so I gave it to him. I also bought another one for a national competitor and guide (also in Italy) - he has had it for about 2 years, now, and has never complained about it. I have seen him using it regularly, too. This one, I haven't tried yet. But, I'm sure the quality will be the same. Breaks apart easily, not getting stuck like some models. Does not have the tendency to come apart in the water, but does not hold as tight as a Folstaff. But, here again, they can be difficult to pull-apart & close after opening. For the price, this is a fantastic tool! . . . even if used only as a back-up when the 1st string model is forgotten somewhere else. Note, if it does gets stuck, just tap the bottom section on the rocks (or something hard) a few times, and it should pull apart to close it. . . also works for the Folstaff too, though I had to use 500 grit sand paper on the "male" part of each section of the Folstaff, and then oil them to break-in the Folstaff. Now, it works fine, too. This inexpensive model works fine right out of the package. I don't think that you'll be sorry if you buy this one!

I've never used a staff until I purchased the Zepher. Now I wouldn't enter the stream without it. Keeps you fishing instead of swimming! RAS
