With its three zippered main compartments and signature zip-down “fly bench” work area, the Waterdance is a lumbar/chest pack designed to accommodate extra gear and accessories for long days on the water. This guide-inspired pack features a compression strap system that adjusts the profile of the pack to accommodate the amount of gear you bring along. Padded waist and neck straps hold the Waterdance comfortably and securely in place while casting. Additional exterior and interior pockets keep all your accessories organized. I bought the Waterdance to replace a Simms vest that I've been wearing since 1995. It wasn't an easy decision, but cutting loose "Mr. Stinky" in favor of having much better arm freedom and more storage turned out to be a great decision. I fairly well agonized over this model and the other larger units available on the market, but I eventually decided on the Waterdance's adjustability and flexible roominess. If you've got a PITA vest get this pack and don't look back.

Fishpond never ceases to amaze me. I'm a big fan of their ingenuity. There are competitor versions of chest/waist packs out there but FIshpond beats them all. Materials are always high quality and the functionality of this pack leaves nothing (IMO) to be desired. Plenty of depth for lots of gear, two water bottle holders, secure/solid attachments for their swivel retractors (get some of these too!), a moleskin lined neck pad (who else thought of that?) and great patterns to boot!. I also own their Wasatch vest for full gear trips, and San Juan for side trips (when the outing isn't primarily for fishing)..and much more...I'm a big fan for a good reason.
