I felt compelled to leave this review after taking my wildhorse tech pack out for some December fly fishing. It was my 1st day using it after purchasing. For me, the pack is almost perfect and I've had several good ones over the past decade. Most of them had one or two design flaws that just kind of left me keeping an eye out for the perfect one. This one is superb. It has a great design, which I assume came from feedback by people who fly fish a lot. There is plenty of room in the chest pack portion for several generously sized fly boxes. Other pockets on the chest pack can house tippet, split shot etc. The materials a very solid. There are plenty of attachment points for retractors, clip ons, floatant etc. The back pack is large and could pack your rod, clothing, food, compressed sleeping bag and a tent I reckon if you wanted to hike and do an overnighter. It fits really nice for being a larger pack and I'm not big, 5'10" inches. For someone a little taller it would be even better. The chest pack doesn't get in the way of your casting stroke because the zipper keeps the chest pockets snug and out of the way of your arms and they can be adjusted vertically if you like them up higher in the chest area. It's very balanced and seemed light too. If you are a minimalist this probably isn't the pack you want, but if you prefer to have a lot of options when you plan on a hard day of fishing, this is a great pack! Fishwest rocks too. They have their act together. Sorry for the lenghty review but it may help someone out.
