5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Great Starter (and keeper) vest, 2.9.2010
    Reviewer: RICARDO LIANEZ (HARRISONBURG, VA)

Covers the basics you need in a vest and much more. Molded drop down fly pockets are standard, but this vest is better. It's made of a superlight material (think single-wall tent material), which will be appreciated on summer days. The integrated hydration area is top notch. Plenty of smaller pockets inside of pockets. Expandable rear pockets on back hold plenty. Once you get something from Fishpond you'll end up getting their whole line. They put alot of thought into their designs and it shows. Top notch quality and they stand behind it. I compared to Orvis, Simms, LLBean and found Fishpond to be better—a young company, but they are going to go places with their knack for functional design and aesthetics that set them apart. I also own their San Juan (for those times I really didn't plan on finishing) and their Bluewater pack for when I need something in between, along with the other Fishpond gadgets (zingers, bottle holder, wader belt)....get it. You won't be sorry and you'll be a customer for life.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 The line has been blurred..., 10.26.2005

Fishpond grayed the line between vest and pack when it released its Gore Range Tech Pack a couple of years ago. Well, they have done it again and grayed the line even more. New for 2005, Fishpond brings us the Wasatch Tech Pack. Much like the mountain range that it is named after, this pack is rugged and tough, yet visually appealing and attractive. The new integrated, expandable backpack breaks new ground in vest design. It also includes three backpack cargo pockets and six large front pockets. On the interior it offers four large mesh pockets (front access) and a hydration bladder pouch and a tube port. The tube port allows you to run the tube from the back of the pack to the front while keeping it securely attached. It also features a patent pending, “one size fits most” where it is adjustable around the waist and on the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are padded and contoured for load carrying control and comfort. Lightweight, durable 420 denier rip-stop fabric with padded air mesh lining and two water resistant pockets with taped seams and splash-proof YKK zippers will make this pack a favorite for years to come. Fishing features abound on this pack with two molded “zip-down” fly benches, gear attachment tabs, cord loops, D-ring net attachment, hemostat keeper and built-in rod tube holder with compression straps. Just to name a few.
