Simms has reintroduced felt to a selection of its wading boot line-up, including the Freestone. Felt has solid grip, it's lightweight, and offers advantages in certain wading environments. Please follow clean angling practices, limit felt soles to single watersheds, and help keep these vital resources healthy.

    • CleanStream design utilizes high abrasion-resistant panels with water repellent treatment for minimal water absorption & easy cleaning.
    • Rubber toe & Heel provide protection from abrasion
    • Padded collar & tongue
    • Nylon speed lacing system for lightweight corrosion-resistance
    • EVA wedge with rubber midsole

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Wading boots made for walking and wading, 7.6.2014
    Reviewer: Denis L (Ogden, UT)

I recently purchased the Simms Freestone boots with the felt soles and I have absolutely no regrets. I just returned from a trip to the Madison river where, for ten days, I pounded the banks , the slick river rock and the rocky trails in total comfort. The size 9, one size up from from my normal shoe size that is recommended by Simms, fit just right. You can see and feel the quality that Simms builds into these wading shoes. Highly recommended? You bet!

Bought these boots for the summer season of fishing. They are as comfortable, as the ten year old ones I was replacing, the first time I put them on. The quick lace system is a pleasure. The tongue opens wide to allow easy access, even with an extra pair of socks. I've used them in the E. Penobscot River, north of Baxter State Park in Maine, and in the headwaters of the Connecticut River on the New Hampshire/Canadian border. Money well spent.
