    As a strike indicator it is superb. The glow part , not so much. A UV light ( or sunlight , but then you wouldn't need it ) is needed to quickly produce the glow. A flashlight takes longer to work and the glow isn't nearly as intense. Most importantly I found that in cold troutwater the glow rapidly disipates andis only good for2 or 3 casts -recharge with UV. This is intailwaters at 50 degrees. Maybe betterin warmer water. Chargingwith UV should be mentioned in the product discription. I have bought more and intend to experiment to get better glow performance
