The GT Perfect Emerger is a straight forward nymph to tie with one exception, the bead.  There is a trick to tying in the bead, but once you do it a couple of times it's easy.  First, tie in your thread slightly back from the eye of the hook, but don't trim your threads tag end!  Hold the tag end up and make a few wraps behind it with your bobbin.  Thread the tag end through the bead and then around the hook.  Hold the bead in place the best you can and run the tread through the bead and around the hook two to three more times.  With the bead still held in place, pull the tag end tight and tie it down with the bobbin thread.   Make a couple of wraps around the base of the bead and then continue wrapping the hook.
